The explosion occurred on Vermilion Oil Platform 380 about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay, at about 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 2.
At the time of the explosion, there were 13 maritime workers aboard the structure. They all put on survival suits and went into the water. They have all been accounted for. The injured worker was rescued and transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, Louisiana. The other workers are still being recovered from the water.
