What Company Or Companies Are Responsible For The Oil Spill?

The DEEPWATER HORIZON was owned and operated by Transocean. Transocean was under contract to BP which had the right to drill the oil well in the Gulf of Mexico by successfully acquiring a lease on the oil field from the Mineral and Management Services of the United States Government (MMS). Haliburton had recently ‘cemented’ the well and the accident investigation will certainly focus on any role that this cementing may have played in the explosion.
