A lot of our clients ask how much maintenance should I be getting a day. Should my company pay me $8.00 in maintenance, $15.00 in maintenance, $25.00 in maintenance, the actual amount that you should be getting in maintenance a day is what it costs for you to pay your bills while you're on land recovering from your injury.
Now I'm going to tell you that a lot of companies will unilaterally pay $8.00 to $10.00 to $15.00 to $20.00 a day. That is usually not the proper rate of maintenance they should be paying you. What you should do is write out all of your bills, your electricity, your food, your living expenses, send that to your company and make a demand for them to pay you what it takes for you to live on land.
