A Quick Note to Visitors from The Driller's Club

Welcome members of The Driller's Club. We are proud to sponsor the Oil Field Safety and Procedures Homepage of The Driller's Club website. Before you browse our site on Jones Act and Maritime Law, we want you to know a few things.

First, we do believe that there are wrongfully filed suits these days. (I know, "wow, what kind of attorney says that", well an honest one.) There are doctors who push too much medicine and surgery, there are dishonest and unethical real-estate, financial planners, and CPA professionals, and there are lawyers who file suits that should never be filed. Our office does not do that. And if we ever have a concern regarding a client's honesty with us, we discharge that client. If we believe after investigating a claim that we should not pursue the claim, we advise the client we will not continue as his attorneys. We have done this several times and we will probably do it many times in the future. Any bad case we pursue reflects directly on our other clients and brings down the value of all the cases in our office. We, and our valued clients, simply cannot be exposed to this.

Second, if you choose to contact us, we will be honest with you. If you don't have a claim, we will tell you such. If you have been offered a settlement, and we think it is fair, we will tell you that we think you should not hire any attorney and you should simply take the settlement. And, if we believe all you can recover are medical expenses (due to the nature of maritime law) we will tell you such.

Our office is a 2nd generation law firm that has helped offshore workers for more than 50 years. We don't want to trick anyone into filing a single case that may get us attorney fees, but ultimately a bad reputation. We would rather work with clients who understand their rights, want to move forward with filing a claim and need us to fight a strong, experienced fight for them, including court and trial if necessary.

Best regards,

Timothy Young
