Does maintenance and cure only apply to injuries that happen on the vessel?

A lot of our clients will ask does maintenance and cure apply to me if I'm off of a vessel. Now we know for sure if you're on a vessel and you're in the service of the vessel you are entitled to maintenance and cure. But you're even entitled maintenance and cure if you're injury occurs off of the vessel as long as you're in the service of the vessel still or you're subject to call for that vessel. A lot of people that work offshore will travel to and from home. A lot of times they're put up on land while the boat is being fixed or worked on. If you're considered on the call of duty or if you're still in the service of the vessel even though you may not be on the vessel you're entitled to maintenance and cure for that injury or illness.
