BOEMRE Matters to Your Offshore Oil Rig Explosion Injury

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) is a federal agency that regulates the safety and responsibility of energy and mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). This agency was the product of a reorganization effort in May 2010 following the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

BOEMRE acts as the safety regulator for oil rigs located on the OCS.
It provides safety advisories for new threats to offshore oil rigs that employers need to heed. These advisories include weather-related dangers, defective products, and other hazards that are usually beyond control.

Other safety measures governed by BOEMRE include the design of offshore oil rigs to minimize safety hazards before they become problems. These designs are kept up by periodic safety inspections and updates to rig equipment. The actual personal safety regulations for oil rig workers are also a major part of BOEMRE's regulations.

If your employer is found to have been noncompliant with oil rig safety measures, it can be used as serious evidence in your claim for damages.
A Jones Act attorney in New Orleans is familiar with dealing with cases of negligent employers when it comes to providing oil rig worker safety and can help you through the process of filing a claim.
